Ice Theatre of New York


You may remember that the very first post on the Rainbo Edge Blog was about Ice Theatre of New York and the terrible damage they suffered from Hurricane Sandy about this time last year. They lost their offices and their rink at Chelsea Piers. Well, we are happy to report that a year later, they back and as as strong as ever!

Tonight is the opening night of the stunning show ICE:DANCE with 14 top skating stars including US Men’s Champion Ryan Bradley, 7-time British Dance Champion John Kerr, World Team Members Eve Chalom, Kim Navarro and Brent Bommentre; skating a program dedicated to elevate the art of Ensemble Ice Dance.

Tomorrow night is ITNY’s 2013 annual Benefit Gala and Performance which will honor "The Best of Ice and Dance:" 4-time World Champion Kurt Browning and his wife, principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, Sonia Rodriguez

In addition to these two shows, ITNY has continued collaborations with Improv Everywhere, Juilliard Dance Program and Fashion Week, free performances as part of the City Skate Concert Seriesat Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx and the World Ice Arena in Queens; New Works & Young Artists Series at Riverbank State Park in Manhattan, City Ice Pavilion and World Ice Arena in Queens to serve city school children; special holiday performances at Rockefeller Center, Riverbank State Park, Bryant Park, and Chelsea Piers.
